Strength lies in obsolescence

Whee! I've never even written Assembly and I'm trying to design a computer. That's why Alan lent me his copy of this book.

But this is my copy, which just arrived today. It's older than I am, which is fantastic.

    I've been fascinated by compilers for a very long time, and it has become pretty easy to see a lot of computer science through the lens of compiler design.

    I think this idea is very well expressed in the title of that book, by intermixing the idea of computer and compiler design as being different views on the same problem.
